"Love's
Labour Lost"
|
By Mira Harber
Kenneth Branagh, English successor to Laurence Olivier has come out with
his latest Shakespeare effort in Love's Labour Lost. This is one of those
experimental versions of a Shakespeare play - it's now a musical, complete
with newscasts of WW2 Nazi Germany and Europe.
The photography
and sets are wonderful, but any movie that attempts to have Alicia Silverstone
as a Shakespearian heroine is too over the top for me. This gives theatrical
a new meaning, and I don't think the meaning works. I'd give this one a
miss. |
