I know what you must be thinking,
just what the world needs, another person trying to give me advice about
money. I couldn’t agree more, that’s just what the world doesn’t need!
Let me introduce myself. My
name is Joe Simpson, I’m a Certified Public Accountant, author and “financial
simplicity advisor”. My first book, The Un-financial Planner has just been
published.. What I offer is a totally new, unconventional approach to personal
finance that is founded in the basic concepts of simplicity. To find our
more, please visit www.theunfinancialplanner.com
In the months to follow, you will
be reading tips and advice from me on a wide variety of personal finance
related topics in the web pages of Best of WNY.com. You will not however
be reading the same old stuff being preached to you by all the other “experts”.
Do we really need to be told
again that maintaining high interest balances on our MasterCard is a bad
idea, or that we should be putting money away into 401k’s and opening up
a 529 college savings plans? Now I will not dispute that much of what is
preached to us by traditional financial advisors is good advice, problem
is most of us need advice that’s just a bit more practical.
Guess what? That MasterCard
is what I used to pay for my kids school clothes and I would love to be
able to start putting away money for college, but I have groceries to buy,
utilities bills to pay and gasoline to put in the car so I can get to work.
There will be no advice on getting
rich quick or beating the stock market. Unfortunately I have no magic potions
to offer. But I will give you advice that is perfectly suited to “kitchen
table” based financial decisions that you and your family are faced with
every day. It will not be ordinary, but it can have extraordinary results.
I hope you enjoy it.
