"S.
L. Hughes has drawn since she was old enough to grip a crayon.
To this day she remains largely self taught with a natural
talent and very little formal education in Art.
Her works
can be usually seen in SF&F convention Art Shows. Was
awarded Best Monochrome/Amateur at Novacon 9 in 1979. Was
judged of sufficient skill to display in the locally prestigious
Munson-Williams Art Institute annual Art Show in the 1980s.
She has taken commissions on numerous occasions and works
in most traditional media, with a current preference for acrylics.
After
a long absence from Art, she has returned and is currently
looking to make a living from it."
