Buffalo, N.Y. (June 24, 2007) —Tickets and accommodation packages are currently available for the 21st annual Kingdom Bound Christian music festival at Darien Lake Theme Park Resort in Darien Center, New York, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester.

Kingdom Bound 2007 will bring together some of today’s most popular contemporary Christian “modern worship” artists, including Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall, and David Crowder, for this summer’s festival, to be held August 5-8, 2007.

Modern worship music, while primarily appealing to young people, especially college-aged kids, has also made its mark at churches around the world, as millions of people sing guitar-driven songs penned by the likes of Tomlin, Hall, and Crowder at Sunday services. Modern worship music songs are like “hymns for a new generation,” according to Mark Weber, of

“Just like past generations had their hymns such as ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘How Great Thou Art,’ today’s young people are making music to worship God with lyrics and a style well-suited for today,” says Weber. “Songs like ‘How Great Is Our God’ by Chris Tomlin or David Crowder’s ‘Here Is Our King’ have repeating, easily-sung chorus parts, which encourage the listener to take an active role, singing along, expressing their worship for God. If you took the songs of U2, arguably the world’s most popular rock band, and adjusted the lyrics so most of them were about or directed toward God, that would be a good way to describe what modern worship music sounds like.”

Kingdom Bound, one of North America’s largest and longest running events of its kind, is excited to offer a place where people can experience some of the world’s top “modern worshippers.”

“We’re really excited to be able to offer festival-goers a line-up that includes artists who write and sing songs used by countless people in Christian churches and gatherings each week,” says Donna Russo, Kingdom Bound’s Executive Director. “Kingdom Bound has built a solid reputation for bringing in top Christian artists, and Darien Lake is a unique and very enjoyable venue for these artists to showcase their talents in front of large crowds representing diverse people who traveled from near and far to come together and worship God.”

Besides Tomlin, Hall, and Crowder, Kingdom Bound will feature three evening headliners at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center stage: Casting Crowns on Monday, August 6 (country/pop), TobyMac on Tuesday, August 7 (rock/hip-hop), and Newsboys on Wednesday, August 8 (rock/pop).

Kingdom Bound 2007 event or day pass tickets are now on sale, and include admission to the majority of Darien Lake’s amusement park rides. Specially-priced “after 5pm” tickets are available for commuters. Campsite/RV/Hotel packages are also available. Call 800-461-4485 or visit for tickets, accommodation information, or to see a current list of the more than 50 bands, singers, and speakers who will be offering concerts or seminars at Kingdom Bound 2007.
